Danza Descalza’s primary objective is to work towards the democratization of dance by introducing it to different types of audiences and offering shows accessible to all. Based in Montreal, the collective is active both locally and internationally.
Created in 2014, the Danza Descalza collective offers unique performances and workshops, a bridge between innovation and tradition. The organization offers weekly workshops for adults in Montreal, creative projects in schools and personalized workshops. In 2017 the collective created the show AKO, a work specially designed for public spaces. After a resounding success, with over 50 performances across Canada, Danza Descalza presents another performance in situ: IMPULSO.
With its many partners and collaborators, Danza Descalza has two artistic directors who work as choreographers, performers and teachers: Andrea Nino and Laurence Sabourin Laflamme.
